Stories and highlights
There's always something to celebrate at our school! From exciting events to proud moments and everyday wins, here are some of our highlights.
A year at our school
Our "Deadly Dancers" are off to the 2025 School Spectacular!!!
We are excited to announce that our school has been offered a position in the Aboriginal Dance Ensemble category for the 2025 Schools Spectacular. We are extremely proud of our dancers for this achievement!
This year we had the pleasure of hosting a group of Year 8 students from Hinohara Village, just outside Tokyo, Japan. Over the week, they joined our students in English, PDHPE, Japanese, Visual Arts, Music and Aboriginal culture lessons,
working side-by-side and sharing experiences. Outside of the classroom, they explored our local community with visits to the Casino area, Evans Head and Byron Bay. Staying with some of our staff families, they truly immersed themselves in life as Australian students. The exchange was a rich cultural experience for everyone involved. Both groups deepened their language skills—
our students in Japanese, and our visitors in English—while also building lasting friendships. It would be wonderful to see a reciprocal visit in the future!
We’re proud to be selected to join the High Potential and Gifted Education program.
This program will include a $6m investment into new learning spaces, specialist teacher development, and more opportunities for our students to excel.
For Casino High School this will mean investment into:
- The Music block including a new recording studio
- Classrooms in two building blocks
- The LEAP Centre and Junior Food Technology Kitchens
- The School Hall
- The School Entrance and wayfinding
We are thrilled for this investment to help our students reach their full potential and look forward to sharing more information with you as we begin development into these spaces.
"I have always been impressed with the variety of activities and opportunities my children have available to them. From competing in state sports, participating in Education Camps and attending events such as Byron Bays Writers Festival and Supa Nova” — a parent of past and current students at Casino High School
"When looking into schools for my senior student, the support offered by staff in particular the Careers Adviser was fantastic. He creates opportunities both on the job or for future education. The school offered support to one of my students to explore and take up Tafe and TVET courses" — a parent at Casino High School
